Drumstick, potato, mustard curry (Munga/Aalu besara) is a famous Odia cuisine. It is very simple & easy to cook. Mustard is a very much crucial ingredient in Odia cuisine. Lots of curries are made with mustard paste. So here I have one dish for you from my Odia kitchen. The taste is slightly tangy because of the tomatoes & if you want then add 2-3 pieces of dry mango. So lets start..

Ingredients
  • 1 Large Drumstick ( Cut it into small Pieces)
  • 1 Small size Potato
  • 2 Large Tomatoes (chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder
  • Salt to Taste
  • 1 cup Water
  • Oil
  • 1 tsp Coriander leaves
For Mustard Paste
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 4-5 garlic
  • 2-3 Red chilli

  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 4-5 garlic
  • 2-3 Red chilli
Drumstick, Potato, Mustard Curry
Instructions
  1. Cut the drumstick & potatoes & wash it well. Boil them for 5 Minutes.
  2. Now for the paste, Add all the ingredients & blend it to a fine paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, Add the mustard paste fry it for 5 seconds. Now add the chopped tomatoes, add salt & cover the lid. Now add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, fry it for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the boiled drumstick & potatoes into it & Add water & cover the lid. Cook it for 5- 7 minutes more.
  5. Add coriander leaves & Switch off the flame.
  6. Searve hot with rice.
  7. Enjoy !!!
