Gulab Jamun is one of the most popular desserts in india. No occasion is possible without Gulab Jamun. I know there are numerous sweet dessert s in India, but in my word "Gulab Jamun ka baat hi kuch aur hai!". There are many variations of gulab jamun & every variety has a distinct taste & appearance. I tried Khoya Gulab Jamun which i had learned from one of my neighbouring aunty when i was in delhi. I followed her methods and i was lucky enough to get it right at my veryfirst attempt. I dont wait for any occasion to make this utterly delicious dessert. so let's start ....

Ingredients
  • 1 1/4 cup Khoya/ Mawa
  • 1/2 cup Paneer
  • 2-3 tbsp All purpose flour
  • 7 Cashew ( cut into small sizes )
  • 7 Rainse ( cut into small sizes )
  • 3 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 9 Pista cut ( for garnish )
  • 1 tbsp Milk
  • Ghee / oil for deep frying

Gulab Jamun
Instructions
  1. In a bowl take khoya & grate or mash it well, notice there should be no lumps.
  2. Then add grated paneer, all purpose flour & mix it well till it becomes soft & smooth dough.
  3. If required then add the milk, cover it & keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  4. Now for sugar syrup, Add sugar & water in a pan, boil it till it turns to syrup, add the cardamon powder, mix it well.
  5. After 20 minutes ,take a small size of the dough in your palm, put the cut ceshew or rainse inside it & form small balls.
  6. Fry all the jamuns in medium flame, when the color of jamun will turn to golden brown remove it from oil / ghee.
  7. Now dip those fried jamuns into sugar syrup for 2 hour.
  8. After 2 hour you can remove it from syrup & garnish with pista.

  9. Gulab Jamun can also be served with the remaining sugar syrup.
