Now that it's summer time & we got lots of mongo in every house, It's time for some mango recipes. Today I will share with you the authentic recipe of oriya amba khatta ( Mango Khatta). Very few ingredients are needed for this which will be easily available in all kitchens. I have used PanchPhoran, which gives a flavourful aroma to the Mango Khatta . Basically, It's a sweet &sour mango dish. You can keep it for a week in the refrigerator. It's a side dish and can be served with paratha also. so let's start...

  • 1 medium Raw Mango (Cuts)
  • 1/2 tsp Panchphoran
  • 7-8 Curry leaves
  • 4-5 Garlic (Chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Jaggary Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric
  • 2 Green chili (optional)
  • 2 Red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/2 tsp Panchphoran

  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric

  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Water
Mango Khatta
Instructions
  1. Wash & cut the mango into cubes. Add little bit of turmeric & salt, Marinate it well.
  2. Heat a pan, Add little bit of oil, Add the marinated Mango to it. Fry it on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  3. In the same pan, Add oil & Panchphoran. when the panchphoran will start splattering, add garlic & curry leaves. saute for a minute.
  4. Add the fried mango, water, turmeric powder, salt & jaggery powder, Mix it well & cover the lid for 5 Minutes.
  5. After 5 minutes, Open the lead, check if the mango whether it's cooked or not. if it's properly cooked then remove from the heat.
  6. Serve with hot steam rice or parathas.

Recipe Notes

- you can deep fry the mango cubes.
- you can use the coriander leaves for garnishing.
- If you don't like then don't add chilies to it.
