  • 3 cup Boiled Rice
  • 1 cup Moong Daal
  • 2 tbsp Coconut (Chopped)
  • 2 tbsp Ginger (Chopped)
  • 5-7 Green chilli
  • 1 tbsp Black papper
  • 9-10 Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp Cashews Cuts
  • 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Asafotida(hing) Powder
  • 4 tbsp Refined Oil
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • 1 ltr Water
  • Salt to taste

Pongal
Instructions
  1. In a vassel add Washed Moong daal, water, black papper, coconut & turmeric powder, stir well. Cover and cook until moong daal is completely done.
  2. Add cooked rice & salt, mix it well & cook for another 2 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in a tempering pan, add cumin, mustard seeds, asafoetida, cashews, curry leaves & green chillies.
  4. Pour on the pongal, add coriander leaves & mix it well.

  5. And on the top of the pongal add a full spoon of ghee & serve with coconut chuttney.
