Who doesn’t like hot deep fried pakodas/chops during these chilling winter evenings. Today i will share with you the recipe of vegetable cutlet whose memory belongs to my hometown. it is mostly known as chop in Odisha and is a very good starter option for a vegetarian. Mainly 3 kind of veggies are used to make this chops ( Beetroot, Carrot & Potato). Its a very simple and delicious snack item
So when you have surprise guest at your home do surprise them with these delicious vegetable cutlets/chops.
Finely chop the Veggies ( Beetroot, Carrot ). Heat Oil in a pan and add chopped Coconut & Peanuts till golden brown.
Heat a pan, Add Oil, Cumin Seeds & finely Chopped Onion. Fry the onion till light brown.
Now add the Ginger/Garlic paste & Green Chilli, Fry nicely. When the raw smell of Ginger/Garlic paste goes out than add the finely chopped veggies.
Add all the dry spices Turmeric Powder, Red Chilli Powder, Kasturi Methi, Coriander Leaves & at last salt to taste. Mix all the ingredients nicely, cover the lid & cook it in a medium flame.
When the veggies cooked nicely, Add the boiled Potatoes, Graram Masala, Fried Coconuts & Peanuts & at last some finely chopped Coriander Leaves. Mix well & cook for 5 minutes more. Switch off the flame & keep aside to cool down.
Now wet your hand & take some amount of mixture, make oval size of chop (You do whatever shape you like). Do same for the rest amount of mixture.
Now roll down in the semolina/vermicelli mixture. Do same with the rest of the shaped chop.
you can store the chops (Semolina/Vermicelli coated) in an air tight container. Keep the box in deep freeze.
Now dip the chop in corn flour mixture (one by one).
Now drop in medium hot oil. Fry till light golden brown.
